Empty Book – Printed!

So if anyone remembers when I did the Empty Book project, the printed product has finally arrived! For those who don’t remember and would rather not go through my old posts to see the guidelines, here they are – The project was to create a book with a 100 blank pages, but make that coincide with the title/cover. For example: What goes on inside trumps head — and then there are 100 empty pages.

Here it is in all of its glory! The idea I went with was 99 white balloons +1!

Package Design Pointers

Package design is a whole new ball game. If you don’t know the way around, you’ll get lost pretty quick. I’ve compiled a list of helpful pointers for when you are creating a package design:

  1. Figure out what it’s for, who it’s for, and why it’s needed.
  2. Research different competitors that are in the area to see what you’re working against.
  3. Gain design inspiration by utilizing google images or Pinterest for unique concepts.
  4. Create a unique, simple, and entertaining package design.
  5. Measure out the dimensions so you know what to look for once you go to print.
  6. Sketch, Sketch, Sketch!
  7. Create a model for yourself so you know how to place the images/text appropriately.

I’m sure I could go on for days, but I will stop while I am ahead. I hope these helpful pointers really help!

Package Design

I can already tell you that I am not going to be able to create the idea that I wanted for this project. I have to create 3 new tea package designs for a tea company that targets women 25+ that are healthy and active. The idea was to create a tea company called “3 wise women” and the tea’s themselves would have 3 different women doing the ‘hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil’ poses and having the ingredients of the tea in a basket or pot on their head. I had started to design these, paint them, and import them into illustrator & photoshop when my printer decided to die on me and in addition to that, my scanner as well.

Here are the ideas and sketches for the original concept:

FINISHED! Mobile App

So excited to be finished with this assignment. There are a lot of things that you don’t initially think about when designing a mobile app. This was a really big eye opener, so learn from me, make sure you sketch out each interface even if you change it, it can get very confusing if you don’t.

Here are the final designs!

Creating Mobile Apps

Today I wanted to touch base on Mobile Application Development. The ability to create your own mobile app now-a-days is a great way to make money as well as help others with day-to-day tasks. Reaktion, is a mobile app concept that I created that would be for all individuals who need advice or feedback on a idea or project that they are working on. Below I have attached the in progress work of me creating this app design.
