Graphic Standards Manual FINAL

So if you read in my previous post, I talked about how I had to create a Graphic Standards Manual for Crucible. I have to say that overall this was a really fun and informing project to work on. I had never seen a Graphic Standards Manual before, so really getting to learn how each piece plays its part in whole was really interesting. Definitely a lot more challenging than I anticipated; there are a lot of key points to make when creating one of those.

Here is the final product!

Graphic Standards Manual

Currently right now I’m working on a Graphic Standards Manual. If you don’t know what that is, let me enlighten you. Its a manual that pretty much sums up your company/logo/brand, into one aesthetically pleasing document. So far this is the idea I have for this assignment:

I feel like this design will really excel because it will be informing as well as entertaining. It will outline every detail within the company to bring light to what they are as a whole.

Completion of The Empty Book

It is finally done! I have had so much fun with this assignment. I have never tried to make my own font before and with that being said I definitely did not do the whole alphabet but  I am pretty impressed with doing the title “99 White Balloons +1” all by myself! It was a little difficult trying to get the white balloons to still appear white but still be visible against the background that I went with. Overall this was a really fun assignment!

The Empty Book Project

So, I’ve been working on this really interesting assignment for class and I have to say that it has been one of the more creative assignments I’ve done so far in this degree. It is called the Empty Book Project where I have to design a book cover (front, back, and spine) with 100 white sheets inside, but the catch is I have to make sure that the book cover makes sense with the content inside. I have decided to go with the 99 White Balloons +1! Here is there progress!

The Turkey is ready!

Its finally done! This project has been a nightmare but nothing in life is easy, especially if it gets you further in life! Now to start on the billion other projects I need to complete! Work hard, play hard am I right? I have posted below the sketches and the final pdf’s. I look forward to hearing your feedback!

Turkey Sketches

90 Minute Turkey Recipe

So, in regards to my most current topic (art), I am going to discuss about my most current assignment in my Graphic Design & Advertising degree. Currently right now, I am working on this assignment about a 90 Minute Turkey Recipe. For those of you who are procrastinators like myself, this recipe is super helpful!

This assignment has been pretty confusing. First,  the instructions given to me by my professor were unclear and thus because of this, I was unable to submit my sketches in a timely fashion. With that being said, I have attached my sketches below so that you may see them and give me feedback! I was unable to get feedback from my classmates and would very much appreciate your thoughts! So far, I have created a 3D open book in illustrator for this magazine spread that I am supposed to create.

I hope you enjoy!

Back at it again!

I hope you guys missed me! Don’t worry, I am going to keep this post short and sweet. Starting today, I am going to start blogging about anything that has to do with art! As I stated in the past, this blog is to be about anything and everything! With that being said, I am starting my first topic, Art! I want everyone who reads this blog to be informed and/or learn something new!

For example, how I approach the graphic/web design process would be:

  • Gather information
  • Sketch out ideas
  • Create roughs from sketches
  • Create digital compositions
    • (Discuss with clientele about progress)
  • Create final composition
    • (Discuss any last minute changes with clientele)
  • Clean up/finish
  • Send to clientele

DV-US — Up & Coming! How they’ve gotten where they are now.

Today, the EDM industry is in full blossom. It has gained a significant amount of attention within the past 3 years. This has influenced a lot of local artists to come out of their shell and share their art with the world. Sean Bannard, member of DV-US a EDM duo group based out of Raleigh, NC sat down with me to share how they have gotten where they are today.

  • What Social Media channels do you guys use?

– We use Facebook, SoundCloud, Twitter, and Instagram.

  • How much time do you guys collectively spend each week on Social Media Marketing?

– Collectively, about 40 hours a week if not even more.

  • How do you both engage visitors to participate and share your content?

– We do contests, give out incentives based on the number of followers/likes we get, we post memes, and also post live footage of our shows and other random funny content.

  • How does this social media engagement benefit the you both?

– It benefits us because it gains us followers, allows us to connect with a wide range of people in this industry and other industries, and also allows us to get more bookings.

  • How does this social media engagement benefit your audience?

– They receive free merchandise, allows them to keep in contact with us/gives them insight to our next show.

So for those of you who are in the EDM industry, how have you gained your success? I am truly interested in hearing some other point of views!

Why Sunscreen?

Being a redhead, the sun is one of your biggest enemies. While enjoying my summer afternoon, I realized that a lot of people don’t wear sunscreen.. Why is it do you think? Because of its smell? Maybe it is because it leaves you looking whiter than you were before. Although I more than anyone understand the love/hate relationship that is associated with sunscreen, it is very important to wear it. With that being said, I think you all would benefit from reading this article by Melinda Ayre,10661

Sunscreen may not be your best friend, but the more you use it, the more you’ll start to love it!
